Balloon Scholarship - NEW for 2012!!
We’re proud to announce that applications for our, new for 2012, Balloon Scholarship are now live!
This exciting opportunity offers budding young Air League members the chance to gain assistance towards qualifying for their CAA Balloon Licence.
Please read the conditions below before applying to ensure you meet the entry requirements.
Conditions
- The competition is open to young people permanently resident in the UK who will have reached their 17th but not their 26th birthday on 1 April 2012.
- The scholarship is intended to help young people qualify for a Private Pilot’s Licence (Balloons) issued by the CAA.
- The scholarship will be flown during the summer of 2012 with training being co-ordinated by Brian Jones at a location and time agreed with him.
- Applicants must be a member of The Air League (or applying to be a member at the time of application for the scholarship).
Selection Procedure
- Only applications received by 24 February 2012 will be considered.
- Awards will be made after consideration of the information provided by applicants.
- The decision of the Selection Board is final.
Application
- An application form, completed electronically, should reach the Secretary of the Trust as soon as possible but not later than the closing date of Friday, 24 February 2012.
- An application for membership should be enclosed from non-members.
- The winner will be notified by letter in May/June 2012 and their names will be published in the aviation press, announced on the League’s website and in The Air League newsletter.
