Given the speed of technological advance, the future will be challenging for all of us.

The Council of The Air League is drawn from among acknowledged leaders in every part of this country’s aerospace community; and it has clearly seen the need to re-double the League’s efforts in support of Britain’s position as a great air nation into the next millennium.

Aerospace has for many years made an immensely positive contribution to the United Kingdom’s balance of trade. Those who doubt the importance of this might reflect on how, in all too short a span of years, our once great sea-faring nation has come to lose most of its merchant fleet and the ship-building expertise which sustained it.

The Air League needs the broad support of aviation enthusiasts and of all those who recognise the vital importance to our country of a great national tradition and of the infrastructure and industry that underpin it.
